In this project, I reimagined the Cheshire Cat as not a cartoonish, wildly-colored spirit, but a mischievous dissection specimen. I was inspired by the horror and fascination I experienced when dissecting cats in high school anatomy class, as well as the whimsical teachings of Lewis Carroll’s popular character.

This almost-life-sized doll is poseable, soft, and full of surprises. A zipper on the velvet-lined stomach reveals a set of Alice in Wonderland inspired organs, from a set of “Eat Me, Drink Me” lungs to a Queen of Hearts heart.
